The Webster County Circuit Court was in session on June 5, 2014 and passed down the following decision:
•Tonja Jean Martin plead guilty to three charges of 1st Degree Trafficking in a Controlled Substance, a class D felony.
Judge Rene Williams ordered Martin to serve a maximum of five years probation for each charge to run concurrently with each other.
•Donny Wayne Lofton, Jr plead guilty to a charge of 1st Degree Sexual Abuse of a Victim Under the Age of 12, a class C felony..
As part of the plea his charge was reduced to 1st Degree Wanton Endangerment, a class D felony. Judge Rene Williams sentenced him to a maximum of three years in prison, to run concurrently with a case from Union County.
•Michael A. Cummings plead guilty to 1st Degree Sexual Abuse of a Victim Under 12 Years of Age, a class C felony.
Judge Rene Williams sentenced Cummings to serve a maximum sentence of eight years in prison followed by five years of supervision as a sexual offender.
•Christopher Newman plead guilty to charges of 2nd Degree Burglary, a class C felony; 3rd Degree Burglary, a class D felony; 2nd Degree Criminal Mischief, a class A misdemeanor; 1st Degree Criminal Mischief, a class D felony; Operating an ATV on the Roadway; Operating an ATV on Property Without Consent; 3rd Degree Criminal Trespassing; 1st Degree Wanton Endangerment, a class D felony; Possession of Marijuana, a class B misdemeanor; and Use/Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a class A misdemeanor.
Judge Rene Williams sentenced Newman to a maximum of ten years for each class C felony, five years for each class D felony, 12 months for each class A misdemeanor, forty-five days for the class B misdemeanor, a fine of $50.00 of Operating an ATV on the Roadway and a fine of $100 for Trespassing. All sentences are to run concurrently for a maximum sentence of ten years.
•Christopher Newman also plead guilty in a separate case of 3rd Degree Burglary, a class D felony; 3rd Degree Criminal Mischief, a class B misdemeanor; and Theft by Unlawful Taking (Less Than $500), a class A misdemeanor.
Judge Rene Williams sentenced Newman to one year for 3rd Degree Burglary, thirty days for Criminal Mischief and twelve months for Theft by Unlawful Taking, all to run concurrently with each other and the previously mentioned case.
•Jeanie M. Thomason was issued an Order of Pretrial Diversion of a Class D Felony on a charge of Tampering with Physical Evidence and 1st Degree Possession of a Controlled Substance, both class D felonies.
•Michael T. Murphy plead guilty to a charge of 3rd Degree Assault, a class D felony.
He was sentenced to a maximum of two years in prison.
•Judge Rene Williams issued an Order Granting Pretrial Diversion of a class D felony for Rebecca A. Hutsell who was charged with 1st Degree Wanton Endangerment, a class D felony.
•Judge Rene Williams issued an order of shock probation for Jawaun E. Eastwood. Eastwood will remain on parole/probation for a period of five years.
•Brandy L. Gobin was issued an Order for Shock Probation by Judge Rene Williams.
•Janice L. Nesbitt was issued ton Order Revoking Probation by Judge Williams. She was resentenced to serve five years for Tampering with Physical Evidence.
•Jeffrey A. Banks was issued an Order Revoking Probation. He was resentenced to serve five years for 1st Degree Trafficking in a controlled Substance, (less than 2 grams of Meth), a class D felony.
