Sheriff’s Report


Webster County Sheriff Frankie Springfield reported the following accident:
Mon., Feb. 3, 2:45 p.m.
Deputy Scott Starkey responded to an accident on US 41A four miles north of Dixon. 
According to the report, Alicia C. Sims, 44 of Providence, was traveling north on 41A in a 2009 Dodge Avenger when she lost control of her vehicle. The vehicle entered a ditch, struck a culvert which caused the vehicle to go air born and came to rest back in the ditch.
There were no injuries reported, but the vehicle was towed.
Mon., Feb. 3, 2:45 p.m.
Deputy Scott Starkey responded to an accident on US 41A four miles north of Dixon. 
According to the report Lisa Wiles, 28 of Sebree, was traveling north on 41A in a 2006 Chevy Impala when she lost control of her vehicle, struck a mailbox and then went into a ditch.
There were no injuries reported and the vehicle left the scene under its own power.
Sat., Feb. 8, 8:35 a.m.
Sheriff Frankie Springfield responded to an accident on Waggoner Church Chalybeate Rd six miles west of Diamond. 
According to the report, Bobby Rudd of Morganfield had slide on the road slid of the road into a ditch sometime overnight and planned to return that morning to pull it out. Cody Griffin, 31 of Morganfield, was traveling north on Waggoner Church Chalybeat road in a 2001 Dodge Ram that belonged to James C. Bickett, also of Morganfield. He reported seeing the vehicle in the ditch. As he attempted to slow down, the vehicle he was driving began to slide in the snow and struck the side of Rudd’s vehicle.
There were no injuries reported and neither vehicle had to be towed.
Mon., Feb. 10, 3:38 p.m.
Deputy Derrick Ray responded to an accident on Lutontown Lisman Road three miles east of Diamond. 
According to the report, William McElroy, 36 of Henderson, was traveling east in a 2004 BMW 545I. As he approached a curve, he lost control of his vehicle on a patch of ice and began to slide. The vehicle exited the roadway and struck an embankment. 
There were no injuries reported but the vehicle was towed from the scene.
Mon., Feb. 3, 2:45 p.m.
Deputy Donald Jones responded to an accident on KY 56 three miles west of Sebree 
According to the report, Keith Gough, 55 of Morganfield was traveling westbound on 56 in a 2014 Western Star registered to Countrymark oil company. Witnesses report that a maroon Ford pickup was driving in the wrong lane. Gough attempted to avoid hitting the other vehicle, but the oil in the tanker shifted and caused the vehicle to overturn.
The other vehicle fled the scene.
Gough was airlifted to St. Mary’s in Evansville.
