Sheriff’s Report
Webster County Sheriff Frankie Springfield reported the following activities:
Sat., Dec 6
•David A. Vaughn, 28 of Wheatcroft, was arrested and charged with being a Convicted Felon in Possession of a Handgun and Receiving Stolen Property (Firearm).
According to the police report, the Webster County Sheriff’s Department received a call that Vaughn was in a suicidal condition. Upon arriving on the scene, deputies were told that the suspect was in his bedroom. Vaughn had left the house from a back door, but deputies noticed the weapon on the floor of the bedroom.
The report went on to say that Vaughn had gone to a neighbors home and asked for a ride. Deputies located the vehicle and stopped it to check on his welfare. When they ran the serial numbers on the gun they belonged to a weapon that had been stolen.
Mon., Dec 8
•Stacey M. Whiteman,43 of Providence, was arrested on a Warrant from Hopkins County and charged with Theft by Deception (including cold checks of less than $500).
Wed., Dec 10
•Randall S. Young, 36 of Slaughters, was arrested on a warrant from Vanderburgh County for Auto Theft.
